Questions about GetChords.

6 questions
What does GetChords do?

It listens to a song through your iPhone's microphone and writes its chord sheet: the chords above the lyrics, line by line. You can also open an audio file or a video from Files or Photos.

Are the chords always right?

No. The chords come from what the app hears, so some will need a second look. Tap a chord to change it and hear it over the song. Your recording is never changed.

Which instruments does it show?

It has chord diagrams for guitar, ukulele and piano. You can transpose in semitones, set a capo, or ask for simple chords: C instead of Cmaj7.

Does my song leave my iPhone?

Your recordings and sheets stay on your iPhone, and the chords are worked out there. For the lyrics, GetChords separates the voice on your iPhone and sends it over an encrypted connection to our server and a speech recognition service, which return the text. Lyrics need your permission and an internet connection. The privacy policy names the services.

What does it cost?

One song is included. Your first export or your second song starts a 7-day trial. After that, export and new songs need a one-time purchase. Songs you already have stay readable. No subscription, no account, no ads.

What do I need?

An iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Lyrics need an iPhone 12 or newer. A song can run up to 5 minutes. The app is in English. There is no Android version.
