Privacy Policy
Your videos never leave your device. Videcho has no account, no tracking and no advertising. The only things it sends are anonymous signals when you open the app, when an export finishes and when a sheet about the trial or the purchase opens and closes, so we can count how many people use Videcho, how often it makes a video and how many people are in the trial or have bought it.
Your videos stay on your device
When you import a video, it is processed entirely on your iPhone. The effects you apply are just settings - your original clip is never modified. Exported videos are saved where you choose. Nothing is ever uploaded to us or to any third party.
Camera, microphone & photo library
Videcho can access your camera and microphone for recording, and your photo library to import and save videos. These permissions are used only when you actively use those features. Nothing is captured in the background and nothing leaves your device.
Anonymous usage counters
Videcho sends three kinds of signals to TelemetryDeck (EU-hosted), and no other usage data:
- a session signal when you open the app, with the app version, the iOS version and the device model, so we can count how many devices use Videcho each month;
- an export signal when an export finishes, with technical details such as the format, the length of the video, how long the export took and which kinds of effects were used, as numbers and yes/no values;
- an access signal when you open the app and when its state changes, with one word for the state of the app on this device (for example "trial" or "purchased") and, during the trial, which of the seven days it is. A sheet about the trial or the purchase sends the same kind of signal when it opens and when it closes, with what opened it (for example export) and how it ended (for example "not now"). It carries no purchase details, no Apple ID and no dates.
All three signals:
- contain no personal information: no names, no emails, no file names, and nothing of your video or its sound;
- use an anonymous identifier made on your device, which cannot be traced back to you;
- do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and are not used to track you across apps or websites.
Apple's privacy manifest for this app declares this as product interaction data, used for analytics and not linked to you.
Children
Videcho is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.
Your rights
We hold no personal data about you: the signals are anonymous and cannot be matched to a person. Deleting the app removes all local data from your device.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the new version on this page.
