Questions about HoverSynth.

6 questions
What does HoverSynth do?

It turns the iPhone's front camera into an instrument. The camera follows your hands, and your hands play notes: a theremin, a handpan and five more instruments. Every take is recorded as a video that you can export.

Do I need to play an instrument?

No. Every instrument plays the notes of one pentatonic scale, so the notes always fit together. You move your hands, and it sounds like music from the first take.

Is HoverSynth like the gesture synth from the browser?

It plays music from your hand movements in the same way. HoverSynth adds seven instruments, sound presets and a video of every take, and it runs as an app on your iPhone.

Are there in-app purchases?

Yes, one. You can try HoverSynth for 7 days. After that, exporting needs a one-time purchase of €2.99. No subscription, no account.

Does it upload my video?

No. Hand tracking and sound run on your iPhone. The app sends only anonymous usage counts, as the privacy policy describes.

What do I need?

An iPhone with iOS 26 or later, good light from the front, and room for both hands in the picture. The app is in English. There is no Android version.

Raise your hands and play.
