Hosting and server logs
The site runs on a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH in the EU. Every request is written to a log file: IP address, time, requested page, HTTP status, referring page and browser identifier. The country is looked up from the IP address. I use these logs to keep the server secure and to count visits, ad clicks and clicks on the App Store buttons. Legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The logs are deleted after 14 days.
Cookies and local storage
Two entries are stored without asking, because the site needs them:
likwest_consent, a cookie holding your answer to the cookie question (accept or decline). It expires after one year.likwest-theme, an entry in your browser's local storage holding light or dark mode, if you switched it.
Neither leaves your browser.
Google Ads
Only if you click "Accept", the site loads the Google tag from Google
Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It sets
cookies such as _gcl_au (stored for up to 90 days) and sends
Google your IP address, the page you visit and the ad you came from. I use
this to see which ads bring visitors and whether they go on to the App Store.
Google may process the data in the USA. Google is certified under the
EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Details are in
Google's privacy policy.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG. You can withdraw it at any time with the "Cookies" link at the bottom of every page. The site then deletes the Google cookies it can reach and loads nothing from Google any more.
App Store links
The download buttons lead to Apple's App Store. From there, Apple's own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Write to the address above. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
