Mosaic Mode
Stack up to 8 video layers into split-pane layouts — top & bottom, side by side, grids and more. Sing the lead, then answer yourself with the harmony.
- Record or import — camera takes, voice memos, clips from your library
- Layouts that move — panes can change over the course of the song
- Pick your canvas — 9:16 for TikTok, Reels & Shorts, 16:9 for YouTube

Live Studio Mode
One video on screen at a time, every take still playing underneath. Tap a camera to cut to it live - the song never stops, only the picture changes.
- Tap to cut — a multiviewer with an ON AIR monitor and every angle running in sync
- The music keeps going — all layers stay in the mix, the cut is picture only
- Cuts land on the timeline — retime them to the millisecond, or turn a cut into a crossfade
Audio FX
Every layer gets its own effects rack. Put the vocal in a hall, keep the guitar dry, and glue it together — like a real mix, not a filter.
- Space — Room, Hall, Slapback, Dub and Ambient reverbs, plus echo & delay
- Tone — three-band EQ on bass, mids and treble
- Character — Warmth, Tube Saturation, Compressor and Doubler

Timeline
A DAW-style timeline for your layers, lyrics and pane changes — with waveforms, beat ticks and millisecond nudging.
- Animate the layout — choreograph pane changes to the song
- Beat-aware — BPM grid keeps lyrics and cuts on the beat
- Millisecond nudging — line up every take exactly on the grid

Lyrics Pro
Musaic listens to your vocal and transcribes it automatically — then places every word on the timeline, ready to fine-tune.
- Word-level timing — drag any word to the exact tick
- Your typography — style type, color and animation
- Animated icons — pin a looping icon to a word: runner, clock, sunrise, a counting hand and more
Instruments Pro
No bass player? Lay one down yourself. Six built-in instruments record straight onto a new layer — in key.
- Bass · Drums · Piano · Strings · Synth · Guitar
- Key-aware pads — pick D minor and every note fits
- Generate Beta — let Musaic sketch an accompaniment to play along with

Send the whole project — takes, layers, lyrics — as an iCloud link. It opens right in Musaic on the other side, every layer still editable.

Questions about recording with Musaic.
Multi-track music recording on an iPhone, what it costs, and where it stops.
What does Musaic Studio actually do?
It records music videos in layers. You play the lead, then record a harmony, an instrument or a second camera angle on top of it while the first take plays back. Up to eight of those layers end up in one frame, each with its own audio effects — so one person can perform a whole arrangement.
Is Musaic Studio free?
Yes, and no account is needed. Multi-layer recording, mosaic layouts, the audio FX rack and the full timeline are free forever; video export in the free tier carries a watermark. Musaic Pro removes the watermark and adds synced lyrics and the six built-in instruments for €2.99 per month or €24.99 per year.
Does it work on Android or iPad?
It's a universal iOS app, so it runs on both iPhone and iPad — the interface is designed phone-first. There is no Android version.
Do I need a microphone or an audio interface?
It works without one, but we recommend a microphone. Recording a second layer means the first one is playing back while you perform — over the phone's speaker that playback lands in the new take as well, so the layers smear into each other instead of staying separate takes you can mix. A headset or earbuds with a mic keeps the playback in your ears and out of the recording, which does more for the result than any effect in the app. You can also skip recording and bring in voice memos or clips from your photo library as layers instead.
Can I sing harmonies over myself without a separate DAW?
That is the whole point of the app. Every take becomes its own layer with its own effects rack — vocal in a hall, guitar dry — and the timeline nudges each layer into place to the millisecond. Nothing has to leave the phone.
What aspect ratios can I export?
9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, or 16:9 for YouTube. You pick the canvas per project, and it applies to every layout in it.
